Victoria is one of the most EV-friendly cities in Canada. But bringing your new Tesla, Ford Lightning, or Hyundai Ioniq home is only half the battle. You need a reliable, fast way to charge it.
At Victory Electric, we are the bridge between your car and your electrical panel. We provide code-compliant Level 2 EV Charger Installations for single-family homes, stratas, and businesses across the Capital Regional District.
Most electric vehicles come with a standard “Level 1” cord that plugs into a regular wall outlet. This adds only about 6-8 km of range per hour—painfully slow for daily commuters in Langford or Sooke.
Faster Charging
Charge up to 8x faster. Go from empty to full overnight.
Convenience
No more hunting for public chargers in Downtown Victoria.
Value
Adds immediate resale value to your home.
Our Installation Services
We install all major brands of charging stations. Whether you have bought a Tesla Wall Connector, a Flo, or a Grizzl-E, we install it safely.
Standard Installation
For homes with modern electrical systems and a panel located near the parking area (garage or driveway).
Installation of a new 40A, 50A, or 60A breaker.
Running armored cabling (Teck cable) to the charger location.
Many older homes in Esquimalt and Oak Bay still have 100 Amp electrical services that are already “full.” In the past, this meant you had to pay $5,000+ for a Service Upgrade just to get a charger.
We offer a smarter solution: Energy Management Systems (EVEMS) or “Smart Splitters” (like the DCC-12).
This device monitors your home's power usage.
It allows the EV to charge when the house is quiet (at night).
If you turn on the dryer and stove at the same time, it temporarily pauses the EV charger to prevent the main breaker from tripping.
Result: You get Level 2 charging without upgrading your main panel.
Strata & Commercial Charging
We work with Property Managers and Strata Councils to navigate the complex “Right to Charge” regulations in BC.
Multi-Unit Residential
Installation of EV Ready infrastructure for condo parkades.
Commercial Fleet
Fleet charging setups for businesses in Burnside or the West Shore.
➜ Site Assessment: We calculate the existing load on your home to ensure safety. ➜ Permitting: All EV charger circuits require an electrical permit. We handle the submission to Technical Safety BC. ➜ Installation: We run the wire cleanly. If we need to run conduit on the exterior of your home, we use quality materials that withstand our damp Island weather. ➜ Setup: We help you connect the charger to Wi-Fi (if applicable) and demonstrate how to use it.
Yes. We install Tesla chargers regularly. We can set the amperage output to match your available panel capacity.
Do I need a permit?
Yes. Adding a high-voltage circuit to your home requires a permit by law. Installing one without a permit can void your home insurance in the event of a fire. As FSR-B Certified electricians, we pull the permit for you.
Is there a rebate?
Rebates from CleanBC and BC Hydro change frequently. While single-family home rebates are currently paused, rebates for Stratas and Workplaces are often available. We can guide you to the current resources.
